A tooth cavity is a hole in the tooth that emerges from tooth decay. Dental hygiene can help prevent cavities. However, the reality is that anyone can get a cavity. Acids in foods and drinks can erode the enamel (tooth’s hard outer layer), creating a tooth cavity.
